August Update and Gigs

Hello! We've been a little quiet on here for a while as we were out enjoying the summer. We played three festivals and had a great time at each of them. One at Blantyre, the Live at Livvies festival, one was Haddstock in Haddington and the other was Party at the Palace at Linlithgow. Hopefully festivals will be a permanent summer feature for us.

We were also on the radio. Chris and I (Tim) were interviewed on East Coast FM and Chris played a few acoustic songs. We'll be sharing some of them over the next wee while so keep an eye out.

We had guest guitarist John join us for Party at the Palace, filling the sound out nicely. You'll be seeing more of him if you come to our upcoming shows.

After a few months away from them, we'll be getting back to our old haunts in Edinburgh and are playing Cabaret Voltaire and Sneaky Pete's in the next 2 weeks. Cab Vol is on September 2nd (this Saturday) and Sneak Pete's is a support slot on September 8th (a week on Friday). Tickets are available on our website now for Cab Vol, and will be available on the door for both.

See you soon!

Cheers

Big April Plans

Our last update was just over three weeks ago but there's a lot to report on since then.

We released our second EP, Loud Noises, at our gig on the 4th of March. It seems to be going down well and we've had some fairly exciting feedback on it. We had a great night and really enjoyed playing The Mash House in Edinburgh. Which is a good thing because we're back there twice in April (more on that in a minute). The EP is now available on whatever music streaming service you use or to purchase on iTunes. Go and give it a listen so you can sing along next time you see us.

Another thing that has happened since the last update was this website, I hope you're liking the new place for all things Aurora Blues. We're able to share a lot more of what we do with you on here, there's a lyrics page, a page to listen to a few of our tracks and our new store where you can buy physical copies of our EP and tickets to upcoming gigs.

Speaking of upcoming gigs, April is going to fun for us! On Saturday 1st April we're playing The Mash House and have a new track we're excited to show you in our set. Then we're back at The Mash House on the 15th April. For both of those gigs, you can buy tickets on the store page of the website. To top a cracking bank holiday weekend off, we're playing the Old Town Food Festival at the Three Sisters again on Sunday 16th. We had a great time there when we played it on the 1st January so come along! As I've been typing this, there is talk of another gig on the 8th April in Glasgow, so watch this space...

We've also been asked to play the Live at Livvies music festival in Blantyre on Saturday June 10th. We're all keen for that and it sounds like a good day out. We'll have more information about that nearer the time.

Hopefully we'll see you at one of our upcoming gigs!

Cheers

March 2017 update

So much news, so little sleep!

We’ve been working hard since the start of the year and have played some memorable gigs. The ABC in Glasgow in January was a great night and then headlining Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh last month was fantastic. Thanks to everyone who came along to either/both shows!

Work behind the scenes hasn’t slowed down either as we’ll be releasing our second EP on Saturday when we play the Mash House.

We’ve started a mailing list as well and have some big plans for it. We want it to be a place for the earliest gig and release announcements but also somewhere that will give people access to exclusive content like live videos, photos and recordings. You can sign up in the contact page.

The biggest news last… we’ve landed a slot playing Party at the Palace, an awesome music festival in Linlithgow, on Saturday 12th August. We’re playing on the same day as Kaiser Chiefs and Ash. Excited does not cover it! Come along and cheer for us, then get some good food and enjoy a cracking festival.
